Everglades National Park in Florida

January 9, 2011 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Last week I was in Florida, in the place of my dream. My current academic writings is devoted to the wildlife species which inhabit the territory of the Everglades National Park. As a result, I found some means in order to see this wonderful place with my own eyes and gather necessary information.

Everglades National Park   was found not for the purpose of protection of amazing views, but in order to keep existing affluence of life forms. The Park takes twenty percents of the States territory which is covered by meadows and tropical bogs.  Very useful master thesis writing which described the Park, called it a grassy river thanks to the plenty of tropical and temperate zone plants. The Park contains various nature biotopes, such as mangrove riverside forests , freshwater bogs, low-lying prairies, subtropical hammocks, etc. More than twenty five kinds of orchid grow on the territory of Everglades National Park. Great variety of birds’ species and many rare kinds of animals inhabit the Park’s territory.

Attempts to drain bogs lasted for a long time until the pollution of earth and water started, caused by pesticides and fertilizers. As a result, the biggest part of the Park (about 86 percents) was acknowledged as a protected wilderness area. Though, it was still in the list of endangered territories in 1993.

Nowadays, the existence of wetland territory of international significance requires funds investments and prompt actions to restore former Everglades or the Park will be lost.
